Carat retains Lionsgate's £25M media business

Carat UK has been retained as Lionsgate’s UK media planning and buying agency.

Lionsgate kicked off the statutory review of its UK media account in September last year, and Carat UK has fended off competition from Starcom, Mindshare and Goodstuff to retain the business.

The account is worth £25m, according to Nielsen figures. The vast majority of the film and entertainment studio's spend in the UK is via their film distribution arm who have received four Oscar nominations this year for movies Bombshell and Knives Out.

Carat UK first won the account five years ago from MEC, when the brand's media spend was £12M.

Jo Sutherland, CEO, Carat UK says: “We’re thrilled that Lionsgate has chosen to renew its partnership with Carat UK. Lionsgate is a progressive account that does brilliant and creative work across all media channels. We’re proud of what we’ve already achieved over the past five years with Lionsgate and can’t wait to deliver even bigger and better results.”
